Vintage Husky Axles and Spacers 70's and 80's

This thread is for detailed images and PN# references for axles and spacers for 70's and 80's Husky's. Post up detailed information including PN#, images and bike model and year... Someone searching this thread should be able to see parts clearly if they are doing a rebuild or a restoration project.....

It is pretty easy guys to snap a few pics when you do a bearing change or swap out a tire....

Amazing how far we have come.

Left Side Axle Distans Spacer 1978 thru 1981 and 82 thru 84

Here are some images of the left side Axle Distans ( spacer) for 78,79,80,81 CR

PN# 15-16753-01 ( note only in 1981 listed the part number as 15-16793-01 ) ask Husky why.... it makes no sense to me...

This is one that I have restored:

Assembled on axle ( note this picture is upside down.... this actually goes on the left side of the bike


Now here is something weird that Husky did.....1978 thru 81 on left 82 thru 84 on right ( identical in dimensions but style of machining was simplified for 82 thru 84 ( less machine time saves money)


And a top view ( note that these are identical part numbers 15-16753-01) but look entirely different!)


And here is an 82 430 (note new wheel style) that has an older 81 Distans on it..... Husky mixed and matched all of these.


If anyone knows why Husky did this please advise?

So in a nutshell.... the Distans uses the same style and dimension 78 thru 80, changes PN# but not style in 1981 and then switches machine style in 1982 ( on some bikes) and goes back to the old PN#.......

This is why technical information on old Husky's is frustrating to say the least sometimes.

Right Side Seal Case ( spacer) 1978 thru 1984 CR Specific

Here are images of the Seal Case ( right side spacer) used specifically on CR Husky's 78 thru 84

PN# 15-16 611-01 This is one that I have restored


This side goes against the brake backer plate - note that the groove holds a flat rectangular Blade style O-ring.....


This side goes against the Swingarm


Assembled on axle


Installed on a bike (82 430)

1978 thru 1984 CR specific axle and spacer assembly

Here is a CR Axle set that I have restored

Axle PN# 15-16728-01
Nuts(x2) 15-16598-01
Seal case ( Cr Right side spacer) PN# 15-16611-01
Distans ( left side spacer) PN# 15-16753-01
and two chain tensioners

Note that these images are upside down and reversed from the way they would be on your bike


This goes on the right side of the bike


This goes on the left side of the bike

1984 XC WR Distans Spacer Left side

This spacer PN# 15-16793-01 was used specifically on the 1984 XC's and WR's ( it was not used on the 84 CR's)

The base material on this one was not so good and pitted during recondition....

I asked the same question a while back ....According to Joe Chod.... spacer #29 goes on the inside... the seal plate with the blade type o-ring goes on the outside of the brake backer plate

Tell me how you were able to upload a pdf print view.... in detail please.... I want to know how to do this.....
