Motoz tires

Wow! They sound really neat, sure would like to try a pair. Go ahead and send me a set of Tractionater Enduro's and I'll write an evaluation.

When I read they are natural rubber and they cost more, I thought uh-oh, and gulped big when I saw the $110. price tag, but realized those are Ausi dollars. Conversion at todays rate put's that at about $77. MSRP.

Balding overweight MotoZ guy in baja with a 130 Tractionator rear tire. They will do 1500 miles off road.

Compared to the Karoo, Michelin Desert, or Dunlop 908RR--these tires are a SMOKIN! deal.

Price aside i think they are a better product. I will be using them from now on. Highly recommended.

Looks like a very good tyre, any idea when they might become available here?

My understanding is that the first container of tires with most sizes arrived to the US west coast a couple weeks ago.

I ordered mine a couple weeks ago, and the guy on the phone was sort of surprised. He had only allowed out a few sets of tires for testing to Dirt Rider, and to one of those pay-to-ride 'tour' companies--both for testing and for some press. I might have been his first customer?
Anyway-the tires showed up at my door in 1 day!

I am stoked to see Kelley get signed up with them. I will start buying my tires thru Motosportz.

These tires have some really nice benefits. For one ya run about 18-20 lbs of air, yet they still give and take like a tire with 11lbs. Thats the large and natural rubber lugs. So no more pinch flats. I ran 30lbs down in baja in the rear. That was a first for me.

Im really curious about how the S/T tires perform in the pacific northwest.

Mike, how would you compare them to the Dunlop 908RR's??

Do you have any info on the weight of these tires? I see the Tractionator was re-designed to be over 2 lbs lighter. It would be neat to see how the different models compare to some other popular tires.

For sure what worked for me wont work for everyone:

1) MotoZ are not DOT.
2) I only tried the HT (super hard) version, in baja. No idea how it (HT)works on wet rocks, in mud, etc.
3) No idea how the various other MotoZ tires (they have MX tires, enduro tires, etc.) work. I only tried the HT version of the Tractionator--their long haul desert/Adv tire.
4) Price--i paid about $150 for the set, and that included postage. About the same as i would pay for a pair of 739AT or 606 Dunlops.
908RR or Michelin Desert would be more like $200 a set. So from my experience these tires are a good deal. Others might be used to using discounted IRC or Maxxis or whatever tires and might find MotoZ prices normal or even higher than what they pay. Not sure where smaller MotoZ tires price out at--a fairer comparison to 606's or 739's


I really hope guys will try these new MotoZ tires and report back. Guys will try the 'Tracula' and the 'Tractionator' tires with the soft, intermediate, and hard compounds. Actually there are 5 tire compounds in all offered, in three tread types. Thats a lot of experimenting!

But IMHO MotoZ is on to something. I havent seen any real innovation in tires in ages--outside the rise of Maxxis (Cheng Shin).

These tires are the only natural rubber tires i know of. They mount super easy, flex nicely, and dont chunk. I havent tried any of the other models, so overall i dont know where they come in on with weight.

My Tractionator 130x100 is lighter than a comparable big desert/Adv tire like the Dunlop 908 or a OEM Karoo.

Just some food for thought.

I have the XCircuit tires on my TXC450 for the last 3 weeks. I not sure they are the best choice for the sandy loam single track that I ride mostly. Saying that, all you have to do is think about turning and they are happy to do so. They give good feed back and have amazing leaned over traction. The problem I have with the rear is that it has almost 0 traction when rear braking in our type soil. I think the tread design makes the tire ride on top of the soil when locking up the rear to slide around a tree or very tight corner. It,s not the end of the world but it something to be aware of. I would like to try the Tracula next. They are very easy to mount and as said before you run them with a little more air than other tires which I like also.

I think what I am trying to say is make sure you read what each tire is made for and purchase the one that best suits the terrain you are riding.

Many thanks for the reply! I'd be very interested in trying a set out here in the Ohio clay, short of running a full moto tire I haven't had really good luck with TKC80's or D908RR's as the front end on the big TE wants to wash out even at slower speeds. I'll drop you a line this week.

These tires do look pretty nice. Let us know when you have them in stock. It would be interesting to see how a set of the Tractionators would fare on my EXC in the rocky single track here in my area.
