Dont ask how but my bolt that holds the gas tank sheeed right off this last ride on my wr300. I just tried a left turning drill bit to back the remnants of the bolt out but no joy. I guess I need to re-tap it now? Advice/dos and donts are appreciated.

A centering bit helps make sure things are centered up followed by a good quality drill bit of the right size then tap using some oil and taking your time. The reversing bit you used may have already centered things up for you. Not sure where the bolt is and how hard or easy it is to get to but usng quality bits/taps and taking your time is the key. Good luck.

I have had that same bolt break as well. And I just realized my replacement has a slight bend to it now too. I will change it out and keep an eye on them from now on. I was lucky that my tank bolt broke just above the frame, so I was able to grab it with ViseGrips.
