Mate read my original post, l stated that, in my humble opinion only, where l think a PDS was touch better and l qualified it in my second post? I did state that the PDS required careful tuning?

The OP asked if there was a difference and I'm not debating which is superior, just my humble opinion on the different systems.

can go on and on like a oil thread....WTF do we care this is the (KTM) Husqvarna section !, all WE have are linkage bikes anyway this should be general section thread, no?......

PS there are still many top tier world class offroad guys on factory level KTM PDS bikes in extreme enduro as well as world enduro championship for example.
    for example

even Robert uses a PDS bike for the WEC (he used linkage machines here is US)

In that regard I believe the entire Farioli KTM factory enduro team uses PDS bikes (some may say they need to for PDS enduro bike marketing....)

the gist of this thread was the climb video and what "we" can see.
Fact--- none of us have any idea what set up and what those guys are using, nor are most of us even mechanically qualified to even judge with any sort of expertise. One guy may like SX type suspension the other super plush....either or both my be using Trax shocks, for sure one is a full factory bike the other not so much, there are so many variables....that we have no clue what we are looking at---Seeing is believing is one comment that I wholly disagree with.....just go watch an illusionist....cut his wife in half or levitate......the eyes are easily fooled and very inaccurate for forming a solid factual process.
( I rode a KX250 of a world jr and trophy team winning enduro rider, it was like a supercross bike in every way, he set up all his motos that way)
(I have also ridden a world enduro champ/Euro champ/PtoD racer and other top tier level racing guys TE610 Husky----set up super plush like a sofa on wheels) OK so both were link bikes.....But regardless, watching 2 guys climb a long hill and coming to some conclusion about what is working no matter the configuration of components is kind of short sighted---back to work.

My point in the comparison was to say how far the PDS has come along. Go ride a stock 1998 200 and it will try and kill you in the rocks at speed. A bud that raced and won for KTM loved the PDS, but he was a super human and won on a stock YZ at Unadilla before he got hired. My buddy, Wookie, bought the PDS bike after seeing me, and other KTM riders get hung up on the logs on our single track with the anchor under the bike.

robertaccio pretty much nailed this one. The evidence is anecdotal, there's no control on the comparison and the conclusions can only be subjective.

Two guys riding different bikes up a rocky hill

    Two guys using different oil
Two guys comparing the Brraap noise their bikes make.

No harm in it and sometimes an interesting opinion comes out of the conversation.. Brraaaap on my friends!

I bet a good rider will look the same on either bike. Style is style.
