Does anyone have a manual or exploded view, or any info at all, for the Öhlins shocks
that were used on the military Husky model, in Sweden called "MC 258".

The military repair manual I have for MC258 only shows the Girling shocks they were
initially supplied with. Later on they went to Öhlins shocks.

Also, are they emulsion style shocks or is fluid and nitrogen divided? Grateful for any info!

They might be the same shock as the remote reservoir Ohlins without the reservoirs.

Yes, I think they are mostly. And I'm now rather sure it is an emulsion type shock. I bought two pairs that I'm fixing up.

I wanted the manual to find out what the encircled part below was. But I've since found out it is a different type of nitrogen filler valve.
On the lower pic is a modern Öhlins for a road bike, it has that type valve too.

I'm going to have them looked over by a guy I know who does Öhlins service, so soon I'll find out for sure! :)
The shock to the left is also from a MC258 but has the Schrader valve, and on opposite side from the other. I guess the non-Schrader type needs a deeper recess.

Yes it's a gas port. They could be emulsion, or they could have a floating piston inside the body. I built mine with the floating piston to have separate nitrogen and oil, just like the remotes and piggybacks. Here they are on my 73 CR400. Used all currently available Ohlins parts.

Thanks! Those shocks look very nice. Great that new parts are interchangeable with the older Öhlins too.
