    Hi,

If I'd replace my fuel tank with 05-07 fuel tank and make other smaller mod.-s, would I be able to mount 05-07 plastics on my -04 TE510?

Or will I run into too many problems?
    Has anybody tried it?

Pretty sure you can do it, main things you need to change is the Tank and seat. From memory I think the 04's and 05's are the same frame. I've had a 05 tank on my 04 once just to see if it would fit. Lined up perfectly.

Although I've not done this, people have said it can be done without problems. Newer tank on a 2004 will allow newer plastics to be used, you could choose red/white (2006 TC, or 2007 TE) or blue/yellow (2006 TE).

I'd really like to try this too. I just had a fun half-hour wrenching the ill-fitting original plastics back on my '04 450. Funnily enough my spare plastics (made by UFO) are a much better fit, but I'm saving them for Sunday best. Bodywork for pre-'05 bikes is impossible to find here so breaking stuff isn't an option!.
