06 510 suspension set up Help needed.....

I'm riding mostly rocks and root in the PA, NY area....
I was hoping someone could make it easy to set up
    my 06 510 suspension......

I prefer to have it a little stiff, as that's the way I've been riding it
and would like to go down from there gradually....
I'm as green as they come But I Love my Husky
    Thanks

First things first, if you are riding a lot of rocks have a look for a proper bash plate.
Next question is how heavy are you?
By the way the 06 TE 510 is a great bullet proof machine so you certainly will have a lot of fun on the girl.

If you are just riding trail and are circa 80 kgs then the standard set up is ok in terms of fork springs and shock spring. its just a case of setting compression and rebound clickers to suit. If you want you could also invest in some revalving to help with the type of suspension effect you are aiming for. Weight is critical as is the type a riding and geography you mostly ride in to get the best personalised set up.

It's probably same or very similar to my '05 TE510. I am quite bit heavier than you, but maybe settings I used on stock suspension will help?

Fork compression: Stock 12 out from full in......changed to 18 out
Fork Rebound: Stock 10 out......changed to 12 out
Never messed with oil weight/level, but had thought about going 5wt oil at a little higher level.

Shock High Speed Compression: Stock 12 out (+/-2)......changed to 18 out
Shock Low Speed Compression: Stock 15 out (+/-2)......left it there
Shock Rebound: Stock 16 out (+/-2)......changed to 18 out (as w/forks, I like a little faster rebound when speed picks up)
    Sag: +/-100mm

Wasn't doing MX type jumps at those settings, but worked well in mtn trails (we do have rocks) and faster high desert runs even with whoops.
I never was able to get the forks where I liked them in rocks, always seemed too harsh in the smaller choppy stuff, so finally decided to get the suspension done right for me and my riding conditions, took everything off and shipped it to LT Racing for springs and complete revalve.........now it works
