Is the main bulb both high and low beam? Not talking about the small parking light...

My high beam doesn't seem to work. does this sound like a bulb replacement ?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

You can always replace it with a known good bulb and if that doesn't work, check your wiring and the switch. I have a bike (not my TE) with a bad switch, but the replacement switch costs 68 bucks, so I think I can live without a low beam light for a while longer.:p

Thanks.... I think that's my next option.. My husky dealer thinks he has the bulb... or I might look up Coffee's research on Headlamps (he did this on TTalk) I wonder if it's over here :)

I was trying to find a link to where you can get headlight bulbs cheap and you can get them in 45 and 65 wattage, but I couldn't find the link. I got a couple of these bulbs, but they were given to me by friends, because they are so cheap (the bulbs, not the friends.)

found Coffee's link on TT and took the part number off the picture of the 45w bulb he used... called the dealer and should have it in a couple of days... and of course the 3$ part will cost me around 15$ cause when I'm at the dealer I'll buy some other crap..... but thats part of it I guess

Go to an auto parts store and get a cheap 12V test light. Take the old bulb out and test for power at each contact. One is hot for low beam and the other is hot when switched to high beam. The socket side is the ground so don't touch the contacts and the socket at the same time or you'll need a fuse too.

Someone was totally convinced they had a halogen bulb because the package said halogen - but it had a incandescent bulb in the package. beyond weird...

No I'm not going to start copying my old posts en masse from TT, we have a future to build here with all new material. Links to other sites work just fine.

My friend bought an h7 hid set off ebay. He gave me one and i was able to rig the bulb up and it works great. its a huge difference over the stock light and it only uses 35w
