What do u guys do to make them fit? shave down the taperlock Insert or drill the bars, or is there a taperlock Insert for the stock bars? I got the Evolution Debris Deflectors.

    Thanks

We drilled the bars, stepping up the bit gradually until the inserts fit.

what phoenix said. i stepped up to 9/16 so if you gona cut your bars narrower due it before you drill.

I just drilled the 9/16 without stepping up. Wreaked havoc on the bit, but it worked.

I used a masonary bit. held up well and worked quickly. I think I used only two steps 1/2? and 9/16? I might have gone all the way out to 5/8"

I think you can get inserts that will fit, if you look around. I found some a few months after drilling mine (for Acerbis Ralley Pros).

I sometimes wonder how much strength I might have taken out of the bars by drilling. Probably compensated by adding the inserts, but I still wonder...

stress risers from drilling but bars never break at the ends....they break at the bends if at all.

I just ordered some of the Acerbis Ralley Pro taperlocks.
