11' TE310 weight

Ok here we go.. And the 2011 TE310 weight with about 2 gallons of gas, barbusters, motosportz radiator and disk guards is....264 Not bad at all. So no gas weight would be 252, 12lbs less(2 gallons gas=12lbs)
I always used to weigh my bikes empty. Here are some of the weights of my bikes w/no gas for reference.

I wonder how that compares to the 2 strokes? I have an older Honda CR125 that weighs 220 (on my bathroom scale) ready to ride.

Yes not bad at all. And the oem exhaust is no feather...

Now you got me thinking of the "Actual" riding weight of my 08 TE 310. Factory PU Arrow muffler (the original muffler with the cat was much heavier) Motosportz Damper, rotor guards front and rear, radiator guards, skid plate and mid-pipe guard, Moose Bark Busters, TurnTech battery, Ultra HD tubes front and rear and about 1 gallon of gas in the tank. Drove it to work yesterday, drove up the cement steps to our loading dock (non dirt riding co-workers couldn't believe how easy a dirt bike can do that) and parked it on our digital scale used to weigh skids of material......flashing between 279 and 280 pounds.

At the risk of hijacking your thread, what does the 2011 TE-310 do better than the 2006 TE-250? I have a 2006 TE-510 and was thinking of trading it in on a 2011 TE-510, but apparently both bikes weigh the same and the old bike has much more power.

I understood that the 2006 TE-250 and 2006 TE-510 share most all the same parts, except the cylinder, piston, and a few related parts.

Well from what I remember my 06Te250 was a LOT more powerful than a yam WR250f opened/desmoged. After I sold my 06TE I got a 07WR250f. I was so disappointed I ended up doing the works to it. Ti exhaust, cams in/out and a 290 kit. After that it was a rocket! I'm comparing that to my 310 and it is close but as of right now the 310 is a little softer power wise. After I jet/tune the AF then we will see. I also leveled the playing field by getting the overall gearing as close to the yamaha as possible. As for 06s go we bought in 2, a 450 and my 250. The 450 was a beast! I felt it had way to explosive power! But thats me I'm more a small bore rider. I like to be able to control of the bike. With the 450 you have to respect it....
As for 06 to 11.. Well things seem a lot better. Quality improved and things feel a lot more tight.. not like a bunch of parts thrown together if that makes sense..

FYI you may already know that you don't need a ramp to weight a bike accuracy, just place one wheel on the scale at a time, and place a block of wood under the other wheel to level the bike. Reverse wheels, keeping the block under the non-weighed wheel, and sum the readings will provide a very accurate measurement. This method will eliminate the ramp tare.
