Have any of your tried the semi-ADV standard 150/70-17 size rear tires that fit bikes like the GS and Stroms on the Strada?

    If so any clearance issues?

    Thanks.

Curious, are you going to that size due to availability, or because you prefer that size over the stock 140/80? I don't think I'd give up the 7MM of section height to get 10MM in width.

    Availabilty.
A few of the tires I am considering only come in the 150/70-17 sizes.

Actually because of the narrow rim the 150 will be slightly narrower than 150 and slightly taller than 70. Exactly how different will depend on carcass design. Should be pretty close to the same size but may allow you to get more road oriented rubber. I have been researching this and front 17" in my quest to ascertain if I can fit a front 17 and keep abs so I have been playing with tyres sizes, profiles and what happens on the std rims. I just want proper road tyres.

The rim isn't very wide. With a 150, you'd be getting a lot less contact patch on the road and the profile would be rounder than it should be. You'd probably be able to fit it, but the quicker squaring off and the decrease in traction at all angles wouldn't probably make it worth it.

That said, between manufacturers, sizes differ. If you find a "slim" 150 it's probably nearly the same as the 140.
