125-200cc 165 high compression Head question

Can anyone make a power comparison on a 165 with high comp head? I've read its similar to a 250 2s just wondering how close that is? Even better would be a comparison to a txc310r.

The thing I get is that the 165's are a fun reliable machine and I like that. I rode a new tc250r and a txc310r and since the tc was lighter it was a ton of fun, more so than the 310 but... my thoughts were the 310 would be a better hare scramble bike because I could goof up and not pay for it as much. I'm wondering if I'll feel the same with the 165 or if I can get enough power it will be as forgiving as the 310 or close?
It almost seems like a good share of 165 owners do less racing and more trail riding and in the case of the 250 vs 310 I think the 250 would win the trail ride bike since its lighter and more fun, if that makes any sense.

I think the 165 is good because it isn't overpowered . I haven't seen too many who can hold a 250 2 stroke flat for a very long time. The 165 is a simple, un complicated . light weight alternative to a 310 . I don't think it will ever match a 310 for power or torque ( and Ive had a well sorted 310 ) .
A 310 is like an underpowered but lightweight 450 - a 165 a torqued up 125.
More open trails will suit the 310 better - really tight stuff will suit the 165 IMO .

I had the 310 and a 150 and sold the 310 because it didn't get used as much as it should have
Not as much fun to ride and I like to fiddle with the 2 stroke

I'm in Iowa, I started a different thread asking if anyone would want to swap bikes for a bit. I race a wr300, I put pics in the other post, its no slouch.

had a high-comp head for my 165 and got tired of race gas... back to a standard head, pump 93 and .8 base gasket with a Lectron carb. thing rips. thought i would miss the crazy snap of the high comp head but i've dialed all the goodness back in.

sold my TC270 because i'm way too in love with this 165. it's the best bike i've ever owned hands down. thing just gnaws on the nasty without being over powered. a buddy of mine on a 250 2T loops out or spins on hills all the time. the 165 just crawls without surprises.

i dont race any more but def wish i had this bike back when i did! light, agile, perfect power. i weigh ~165.

been on the fence about going back to a 250 or 300cc but not really sure why (Beta bug). the 165 does everything i want, every ride. sh*t, i even love working on the thing. stupid simple and tiny.

the only thing i want to do is lighten the stock flywheel every so slightly. i've got a spare to try that with next.

Yeah it's 6-6 1/2 hours, I was going to do the ironman this year. It would be a little out of my comfort zone for a test ride, I appreciate it though!
