I know there's another thread about this topic, but found this on en BMW page:

I don't know if it will fit an TR650, but the interesting part is, that when switching from 19" GS the same ABS ring as standard should be used, but when changing from 21" wheel another ABS ring should be used.

    I can't read German.

The tr650 parts catalog shows the same tone wheel/abs ring part number for the 19" strada and the 21" terra. Interesting they call for a different ring going from 21 to 17 on the Beemer. Maybe the tr can "get by" with the same ring for 19 and 21? Maybe the different ring for the 17 is more of a workaround to fake the system into thinking it has a different wheel?

That means there exists a ring to put on a 17" more to the point. I might just have to hunt down this one and then I can get my BST wheels ( 17" front and back)

I am using a 19in ABS ring on a 21 inch front with no issues at all. I have over 3000 miles with this setup on the bike.

Do you have a link for that? I'm running a 21 front and 17 rear with the stock TR rings and do get errors as I wear down rear tires....I *think* it's right on the edge of working. If BMW has a different ring for the 17 I *think* that might work better.

I believe the original site is talking about only the front tire. My post is assuming they are talking about going from 21 or 19 front to 17 front. Nothing about the rear. Maybe I'm wrong?

I'm not sure what link you are looking for?

The original posted link looks to have a part number for an abs ring in the description if that is what you're after. There is also an abs ring in the related products at the bottom. But, I still can't read German, so I may be wrong about what I'm looking at.

Ahh! I thought you were referring to another online place.

I did translate the page and believe the ABS rings are different between 19" (regular F650GS rims) and the 21" (Dakar F650GS rims). I think the Strada comes with the first and if you convert to a 21" front like I did....the issue of errors seems to be validated by this English version. $95.00 isn't cheap, but I'm going to do some counting for comparisons and may buy one.

    Thanks!

Here's the link for the other (21->17) ABS ring
    http://www.wunderlich.de/shop/de/abs-ring.html
Price includes 19% German sales tax (which should be taken off when the item is sold to overseas)
Wunderlich items are also available through many resellers which are generally more flexible with overseas-sales.

If you guys need anything translated into or from German....shoot me a pm.

Correct, the Wunderlich page only relates to front wheels.
Their mainstay are parts for BMW's...who never brought out a 650GS with an 18" rear.
