    can anyone give me any info on the shocks and forks fitted to my 1970 400 Cross ?

    Your forks are the standard silver leg 6 to 6.5 inches of travel. The shocks you have are Curnutts and they are WAY TOO LONG. Take them off and sell them on Ebay. Progressive makes new 12 to 13.5 inch shocks for your bike with the proper lower mount offset to clear the rear sprocket. If you are building it just to look at it (I hope not) you can get the stock Gerlings on Ebay but a really good set will be 300+. If you are building a rider or racer i run the 13.5 inch shocks.
