Another installment of HVA One-Minute-History. Here are some pics of the titanium frame Oval-Case Husqvarna 400 that Lars Larsson rode.

The following are abbreviated excerpts from the April 1972 issue of Supercycle magazine.

The frame was fabricated by Steve Schneiders and his Titanium Racing Products firm. In addition to the frame; the axles, handlebars, and air bell mounting brackets are titanium. The frame itself is responsible for a nine pound savings over stock. Also part of the build is an alloy Lyta tank, A&A plastic (Kydex) fenders, and turned (shaved) fork legs. Overall weight of the 400, with fuel, was 195 pounds. At the time Schneiders was also working on a titanium exhaust and swingarm to further reduce weight with a goal of 180 pounds.

Lars won 4 of the six events in the 1971 Summer Inter-AMA series with the titanium Husky.

The motorcycle is currently part of the International Motocross Museum collection.
