A compression gauge shows about 118 lbs. How much should a 250 have? Thanks

My well used 81 WR250 has 140 which I was told is low. I was told 160 is what they should be.

Ahh thanks, I figured that was low. The bike won't start unless you bump start it, but runs well and restarts ok as long as the motor is warm. Just picked it up about a month ago and have been restoring it a little bit at a time. Guess a piston, ring and maybe a bore job will be next.

Wossner Pistons online is a great deal on pistons. Made in Germany, quality looks good and price is alot better than others, $120ish. I just got one for my WR250, good size selections also

Thanks, I'll check them out. Don't know yet if it will need bored or not. I have a feeling this motor has never been apart.
