• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1982 Clutch Cover diffrences

1982 XC 430

Husqvarna
AA Class
So I have both a 250 and a 430 XC. I would think they would have the same Clutch Cover but they don't. The 250 has some sort of domahicky below the Kickstarter and the 430 dosn't. The 430 has a Vent Hose but the the 250 dosn't. One or the other probably isn't an 82 or is there really a diffrence between a 250 and 430??? Oh and Yes I'm in need of one of these if anybody has a line on one.

Sounds like the one on your 250 is off of a 510 four stroke with the whatchamacallit being for a decompressionlater, fun aside it think it is really for a four stroke. 250-500 clutch covers are all the same but all should have a vent.

They are a common sought after used part. I think they are being repopped but I have heard of quality/fit issues.

They tend to crack at the rear locating pin or get damaged in crashes. Somewhere around 1986 they added another bolt which pretty much stopped the cracking at the real locating pin but by then they had a water pump cast in. Not aware if anyone has actually tried to see if the Italian four stroke covers will work. They moved the water pump up to the cam and added still another bolt hole but they probably will fit and look better than one with a capped off water pump base.

Yeap like Husq fleet said, you've got a 510 side cover, in case this
helps if you get in a jam the water pump (85-89) left side covers fit the
the air cooled bike too. You just need a block off plate where the
water pump goes & some rtv in the un used mounting hole.
