Yes, that is correct, a 1983 Husky CR 100 to be raced in the ACR 100 Evo class (www.acrmx.com).

This was not a difficult project, but a costly one as I made some mistakes in my haste to buy what I thought was the correct bikes and in using a company that came in at $800.00 over the $1500.00 quote on building this engine.

I started with a 1978 CR 125 engine that has been completely rebulit and de-bored to make the engine a 100cc race engine.

I bought a 1983 XC 250 for the rolling chassis. I was also informed by said shop I could use a 1981/82 MX frame to replace the 1983 XC frame. Wrong! Then, while searching for a pipe and rear wheel and not having much luck, I found a 1983 XC 125. Sold off all the other parts and the 250 and now I have a base from which to build this bike.

The reason for this build is that at 6' 4" tall, all the other 100cc race bikes I found were so small I looked like a 6'4" tall Preying Mantis sitting on a minibike.

I do not expect this bike to be competitive with the 1980 RM 100 or 1983 YZ 100, but it does fit me well and will allow me to go out and have some fun.

    Pics down the road.

In France, there has been seen a 80 wr 82 but perhaps only in exposition.
I'd like to know how you have debored the 125 to 100 .
    Which piston and liner ?
All pics will be welcome !

What a great photo Michel. Is it from a bike exhibition in France in the 1980s and do you have more photos from that Husky display stand???

I had a Husky Shop do the work. He used an RM 100 piston and liner. Actually, he had a machine shop do the cylinder work. Went $830.00 over my $1500.00 dollar budget. Not really into giving him a shout out until I ride the bike.

I am currently having the ITC shocks and Forks rebuilt.

PICS when I get the roller home in a few weeks.

The 80 looks to be housed in 1980 running gear based on the shock mounts and fuel tank.

    Rich,
About time you got going on that Husky LOL, the 250 you sold me turned out to be 430, i guess neither one of us looked at it very carefully..
Going to drop it in 84 frame (steeper steering head) & make a 84 430...a bike Husky never made .
