1983 xc 175

hi just bought a 83 xc 175 just wondering if anyone can tell me what the standard jetting should be please?

Stock is

main 400
pilot 55
jet needle 6dh20 3rd
needle jet q6
slide 2.0


mine is running

main 450
pilot 45
jet needle 6F15 2nd from top
needle jet r4
slide 2.5


where did you get this in UK?
Not many made and in US only as far as I remember. About 200 XC and 200 WR made. Piston and Rings are tougher to get than unicorn teeth!
Looks very low hour and unabuse nor moleted.

That is one nice looking machine. reinforcing my claim for the '83 Huskys as THE best looking of the entire marque !

Check out this old 175 seen at the Castella Vinduro. Had a weird rubber end in the muffler to stop water getting in?

DO NOT ride the bike with the stock jetting! The stock jetting is so lean I am shocked that every single '83 175 did not seize on the first ride. Joe's jetting is close, but mine is even a bit richer still than his.

We have a great source for parts down here at HVA Factory.
Looks like there is not much needed, other than the rear fender and a headlamp unit. Not forgetting the dreaded MOT and registration.
Are you going to Telford in Feb ?

The stock jetting for the '82 125 is a 470 main, I have a 530 main in my 175 and I would probably go richer if I could find one.

What mix are you using? I need to redo the carb on my new baby.
