I'm needing a preferably new/n.o.s. or very good used front brake rotor as well as the buttons, but was told they are unobtainium new. My rotor is beyond resurfacing, one side is good, the other side is grooved badly from the previous owner running a pad with no friction material on it!!!:lol:and I've already rotated the buttons 180 degrees....been riding it with new pads, it works but it's pretty wooden. What options are there for these years??

I had this problem too. What I did was call Halls Husqvarna in IL and they got me a 87 rotor I took it to a shop with the old one as a guide and they cut it out. It works great. My buttons where OK, Halls might have them.

I am not sure how close the "buttons" on the modern rear discs are to these ones. what metal are those buttons anyway it doesn't seem to spark like titanium with a grinder. Some street bikes have like a dozen bigger ones. (times two, front discs) I bought one new one years ago to copy but just turned them over like you did.
