Thanks from a tip from a fellow rider I put on a pwk 38mm from a KTM 300exc on my 2013 wr 250. I bought it off eBay for $84.00 . I just got back from a quick ride and I am blown away how good it runs it feels like a totally new bike 25% more low end and it sits there and idles perfect. I did not have the money to get a new carb. and this was a cheap way out and it paid off. IMG_20130511_191531_393.jpg

Good move dan s. Are you just running the stock 300exc jetting?

Yes right now it is all stock jetting from the 300. I just did it and took a quick spin down the road. I'm sure there will be some fine tuning but it is real close. I did take the 45 pilot out and put in a 40. Next weekend going to put it to the test and go out on the trail with a hand full of jets and get it perfect. But I can already tell a huge difference. I will let you know how it goes.

Hi, will the green pwk 38 as (short version) from 04 ktm sx 250 fit the 2006 husqvarna wr 250 or should it be the red one pwk 38 as (long style with plastic cap)? I heard that the short one will not fit the wr 250, because it is not wide enought (from intake manifold to filter). Can you get me some pictures of your pwk installed on wr 250/300. Thanks.

I run a PWM, which is very short, so I'm sure you can use the KTM carb. If it is a little short, you can run a reed spacer. Honda spacers will work. I run a thin GASGAS spacer on mine.

The one I put on is the red one with the screw on black cap. Went riding this weekend it is awesome what a difference.

Can you please describe the difference, and is it worth to swap the mikuni tmx with keihin pwk?

Best way to describe the difference is, feels like 50% more bottom end and no more huge hit onj the top end. You do not lose any topend just is alot smoother transition. which equals more traction. My main reason for changing was so it would start easier. starts first kick cold or hot now.And it just runs better overall. I did not like the jd needles that came with my carb.they were all to rich. my jetting is 45p CEL needle and 170 main AS 1 1/2 (wr300)
