Remove all Advertisements Hi All This bike will not beat me but it sure is trying! Had it running lovely before I went on holiday (sorted out spluttering which I traced to incorrect level of carb floats). Well I go to take her out today and go through usual fire up procedure, turn fuel taps on, twist throttle once then open carb chamber lever. Then try to start her but no all it does is turn over without any sign of firing. Check fuel lines and there is a very small leak on T bar where the two fuel feeds meet but nothing serious (will fix before I ride her). Took plug out and got excellent spark (its new plug with only 50 miles on it) so I am baffled! Especially as she ran perfectly before i went away and since then has just sat in my garage. I thought maybe its the kill switch but very much doubt it because as I say its been in the garage where it's nice and dry. Out of interest does the kill switch turn spark off on plug? If so it's definately not that as I got spark! Any guidance always appreciated
is your bike kick start or electric start? is your carb flowing any fuel?sutck float valve perhaps.dan
It's interesting you say that as someone on thumpertalk offered the same advice. I'll check the float, can you normally tap it to dislodge float? The plug is wet which is why I wonder if thats the case but then again perhaps it's the bit of fuel that was left in the jets and not enough to start her
sometimes you can lean the bike over on its side.if you lean it over and gas comes out the over flow and will keep coming it is probably not stuck any longer.
