Hello all, my name is Tim.
Just picked up a 2000 Husqvarna SM610S 9 days ago. Title says 2000 TE610e. 13,000 kl on it. Where these originally TE610's and just changed the plastics when they got them here in the States? Going to take it to Hall's in Springfield, IL, have a service and oil change done. Throttle is a little abrupt at low rpm (jerky), so I'll have them look at the carb too.
Anyway, took it down to Maryville, TN for 4 days to break (me in to her and her to me) in the bike. First impression? Needs a little more power, seat modified and a bigger tank. So...
    1) dual exhaust bike, does the single exhaust fit from a 2005 or newer?
    2) does the bigger stock tank TE tank (I only want a 3.4 - 3.7 gallon tank) directly bolt on AND work with the stock seat?
    3) what size is the stator? As I am wanting to run heated gear (gloves and jacket only) and maybe my GPS.
I am a tall guy, so adding about 1.5 - 2 inches of foam and have my upholstery artist finish off the seat with some cool vinyl is priority one. Then service and tank done after. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So let's here your suggestions and maybe turn this into a build thread. I will add pictures after I go for my ride today. I live in central IL and this bike already loves the cool air!

You need a pipe for a 92-99 kick only or 98-03 e-start, any dual pipe model (not counting the later 630's) should work. Pro-Circuit (Fast By Ferracci), Malcolm Smith Motorsports, Big Gun, made them, plus a few of the Euro companies, but I don't think they're still being produced. Check ebay. For new, I'd call George at Uptite. His pipes make the most HP, and if he doesn't have one available, he'd probably build you one.

The TE and SM should have the same size tank, about 2.4 gallons, the larger 4 gallon tanks are super rare.

My 2000 TE had a 130 watt stator, but I think the e-starts have higher, Halls would know.

    Gutz sells taller foam. http://www.gutsracing.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SFHSQ-001

    Yeah, we need pictures.

Might want to add some Rox bar risers if your a tall guy. I've got the 2" ones on mine [IMG] bad pic, but you can see what they do

Hall's Cycles sorted it out. Carb cleaning and adjustment. Do you have a dealer near you?

Replacing my flywheel at the minute as the magnets came loose and got mashed up inside. There is a dealer about 30 miles away. Think I'll try some adjustments myself once I have everything rebuilt in case all my problems were because of the flywheel. How is the bike going? Pics look good. Where did you get the large tank?

Hall's Cycles in Springfield, IL. $200, plus they had a Ricochet skid plate for $150. Total hooligan machine now, with a decent tank range.

Hey Tim, With that tank you'll need to wheelie to get the last of the juice out of the new tank! :D
Is there much difference, if any, to the way the tank is mounted compared to the regular tank? Is it a straight swap?
