I'm putting a new clutch in my 2000 WR360, the old one rattles worse than a old Volkswagon. A new basket, fibres & steels & a Recluse is going in.
I have some questions about the fibre plates in the stack before they go into the bike. I know that you have to soak them in oil first but.....[IMG]

1- What type of oil to soak them in? Synthetic non synthetic? I was thinking the same oil I'm going to run in the gearbox?

2- How long do you let them soak for?

3- Do you have to align the coloured marks/notches on the outer ring? Or does it make any difference?

4- Any other issues I need to be aware of.

    Thanks in advance

    Damo.

i usually just get a plastic bag, pour in some engine oil, place the plates in there (dont shake- just soak or gently tip and coat them all a bit), lettum coat and pull them out one atta time when installing so that way they stay clean and the mess is reduced. im not aware of any indexing issues. if theres nothing obvious and there's no special odd plate that goes in the middle of the stack (honda) or some such just install as per the manual or how they came out.
