Up until I got my new AJP PR5 motorcycle I pretty much exclusively rode my well massaged 02 CR250 husky. The last 1000 miles have been on the AJP and I have been loving it. I talked a buddy of mine that rides a KTM350 into getting a semi inexpensive 2 stroke as he had never had one and we ride primarily tight woods. He picked up a uber clean 2000 YZ250 a while back. Bike is in fantastic shape and works great. He sent the suspension of to ZipTy and just got it back so we did a 2 stroke day.

My 02 CR250 husky is setup well for off road and was my main ride befor ethe AJP. It needed some love. Dragged it out and gave it some love. New silicon rad hoses, ZipTy XF coolant, cleaned air filter, adjusted chain. Stock 02 pipe was kind mashed up and unhappy and I traded a fellow member here for a used 2C pipe. So I installed the pipe. Needed some bending around to fit right but got it all to line up better than the stock pipe. I have rode one 2C pipe before on a 07 WR250 and loved it. Lots of mid range like the Domas I love.

So got a good ride in. Noticed pinging under load which this bike has never done. It has a semi new piston so all is good there. I figured it might be some old gas that was left in there but seemed more than that and thought maybe the pipe was making enough difference to rejet. As I run a Lectron I simply turned the the external Powerjet 2/3rds richer and the pinging under load was gone. Happy with that it still feels lean / flat on the bottom just a bit. Wnet a 1/4 turn richer on the metering rod and bam, there's my bottom end back. I love the simplicity of tuning these carbs and that you need no parts and almost no tools to do so. Brilliant.

Now with it running 100% the bike has amazing power. Had real good power before but now... WOW. Very smooth but powerful bottom end that remains very usable and not to much. Mid pull is VERY good, so much meat there. Top end is better than with the stock pipe too but I dont run the bike to the top much. I really like smooth bottom and lots of mid for how and where i ride and this pipe / Carb deliver it in spades. I love Doma pipes for the same reason on my 165.

Oh, i should also note I am running a Honda CR250 reed black and reeds. This actually mellowed the bottom some over stock which at first I did not like. More I rode it the more I realized it was actually more usable. Now with the C2 pipe and retuning the Lectron to match it I have so much liquid power I find the motor near perfect. Powerful yet not a beast, easy to deal with and the right type and amount for me. Really liking this combo.

JimJim, I have the stock and pro circuit for mine. Stock is better for woods imo. Pro circuit is a topend pipe and they bend up real fast at the header. Mine kinked up where it's darn near closed shut. Not sure if it can be fixed. Pro circuit needs the matching silencer as well. Just bought a new DEP. When the weather breaks I'll see how she goes!

I have like 9 bikes. I like most of them real well. The AJP does have my attention though. This 02 CR250 has a lot of massaging, revalving, seat, tank, motor mods, ergonomic updates and lots of setup yet the AJP PR5 all stock is as good and in some ways better. Comes with excellent suspension, awesome handling, great seat and user friendly motor. Its hard not to like. The CR with the new piston, new pipe and reset Lectron are is as hell though.
