250-500cc 2002 WR250 Wide ratio trans?

    Trying to purchase a 2002 WR250. I thought I read somewhere the 2002 was the last of the "true" wide ration bikes. Is this true? I will be making this my dual sport bike.

    I think it is kind of hit or miss on the 02 WR250's as whether you got the true wide ratio 5 speed or the CR 5speed. I know of one that definitely was and one that definitely wasn't. The parts book says they are the WR 5 speed but that can be misleading. At the very least is that it is an easy convert to the 6 speed. Awesome bike no matter what transmission.
