I just replaced the oil in my gearcase and went for a couple of laps. As I returned I noticed fresh oil dripping out from behind the sprocket. I did SLIGHTLY overfill according to the manual. 700 ml vs 946. I put in a full quart. Anyway, it appears there is a simple o-ring and a spacer behind there. Is this a simple fix? As always thanks!

Sorry-I meant to say FRONT sprocket o-ring.

Yes, it's very simple. Pull the sprocket and bearing sleeve, and the o-ring should come out with it. You can even replace the outer seal at this time. I would at least clean the seal very well and fill the lips with grease.

Upon further inspection I see the o ring in there back behind the seal. I will replace both items. I assume some type of pick will get that seal out?
    Thanks

its a roller bearing behind there.you should be able to pry the old seal out using the countershaft as leverage you know the twist it method.
you shouldnt damage the rollers if you do have to use them but i wouldnt reccomend it.

Easily done. Come to find out it had the wrong seal in there. The Oring was OK. The seal was sized for a WR250. It was 2 mm too big in the ID therefore causing the leak around the sleeve. Easy fix...

    Good to hear.

My kick start shaft came from the factory with the seal in backwards. I'd lay it over to do clutch work and oil would run out around the shaft. Took me a bit to figure that one out.
