125-200cc 2004 CR/WB165 Build Thread

I picked up a 2004 CR125 with very low hours on it a few weeks ago for $1,500. The bike was hardly ridden, however in true Hoov165x fashion I couldn't resist a complete teardown and customization to my liking. I will post more during the following week or two as I assemble this project. Many thanks to Walt and Kelly at Motosportz for all the goodies and inspiration! I didn't take many pictures before I tore it down, but here are a few. Hardly any wear on the mag cover..

Here is the frame, powdercoated and ready to go. Notice the kickstand tab I welded on...thanks Walt! Also welded on a stabilizer bracket in anticipation of my Motosportz stabilizer.

Very nice, looked like new when you started.
It inspires me to keep checking CL for deals. They are hard to score in this area though, cuz Kelly, Blake, Tim, PC etc etc are looking at the same ads.

Well, it's coming along. Now all I need is some time to finish it. Having an issue with the Cemoto tank shrouds- the right side will not work on the IMS tank. The stockers bolt up fine, so it is not the tank, although the Cemoto shrouds could be made to fit on the stock tank with a little massaging. Not sure what to do here as I need the IMS tank, but don't want yellow shrouds.

I am thinking that pipe isn't going to last long............it really hangs down.
