    Hi All!

I read the thread from last year about this part being discontinued here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/little-help-plz.86176/

This person bought the last one from Bills apparently. The 2006-2007 intake union looks identical to the 2005 in the parts fiche...but it's a different number. This one however looks like it can be purchased still. I can get a new OEM one from lings in the UK but shipping alone is going to be $45.

Been looking on eBay for awhile...but even if a used one shows up for an 05' it's bound to be clapped out already. Here's a pic of the side by side fiche:

I love my Husky but finding parts for it are getting more problematic as time goes on. Any help from some Husky gurus is appreciated...Thanks!

They might've made the flange thicker, once they got rid of the gasket. (a gasket AND an o-ring??). but maybe not.

bet'cha it works still, though. I do not know for sure.

if the heads are the same and the carbs are the same that'd clinch probably. if they're different- it still may work.

let us know what you end up doing.

That's a good call. I checked more parts between the two: The O-ring is the same part number...the carb is the same part number...the air funnel that goes from the carb to the airbox is the same...the cylinder head is different though! I'm 90% sure it would work...or be made to work...but it's a $90 gamble.

Not sure what I'm gonna do.

it's probably gonna work... might need a gasket for the 0.010" gap maybe. most intakes have enough slack.

I'd take that $90 gamble, I think. Depending on how bad your current manifold is I suppose.

another minor part number check: see if the 05 head part number has been superseded by the 06 number. if yes: cool; if not- not the end of the world.

On second thought- I doubt they'd modify a head casting or intake milling just to account for a gasket change. I am guessing you're still good though.

After looking at the parts fiche again...I noticed that the gasket that goes between the O-ring and the intake boot for my 2005...is listed as a part for the "450". So it's not on my 250, there might not be any distance issues between 2005-2006 on the intake at all. The fiche shows parts for the 250, 450 and 510 all in one so it gets a little convoluted.

As far as the condition of my current one...it's nowhere near as bad as the one in the link I put in the first post. There is a little cracking at the top but that's about it. I think if I put some RTV or silicone in there and wrap it with electrical tape it might stop it from getting worse. Even if that works for a few years, the parts for 2006-2007 that I can get now will start to disappear as well! When I get a good paycheck with some overtime on it I will buy the part.

Thanks for your input Trenchcoat...much appreciated!

I believe it will work. The head changes were likely for the bigger stem valves.

    I agree.

The early bikes had valve problems like the early CRF250.
