Hi, I just bought a SM610 that is not running. Previous owner lost the keys, and started messing around with the switch cables (create a jumper with a small cable) and he said that the he was able to start the engine but after 10 minutes of riding, the jumper fell off. He re-conected it, but to the wrong cable and it inmediatly sparks stared flying and never started again. He took the bike to a shop and they told him it burned the ECU. I bought the bike thinking that it would be easy to fix, but i have spent a lot of time searching around for a place to find it and had no luck.... Can someone please give me an advice on where i can order it or any other idea??? Thanks!!!

What's the status of the keys/ignition switch? Generally at an ignition switch it's power coming in/power going out, not sure why you'd get sparks. Dumb question maybe. but has someone verified the condition of all fuses/fuseable links?

That's the story that the previous owner sold me. The problem here is that the previous ECU is not installed in the bike, so I need it anyways. He said that he took the bike to a local bike shop and that it was diagnosed the problem with the ECU and he sent it to someone to "repair" it. Here's a pdf with the missing part:
    http://www.halls-cycles.com/images/PDF/Husqvarna%20.PDFs/2006/TE-SM_610_2006_parts_v-2.pdf
    part # 8000 A4999 (page 109 part 21)

I sent this shop an email for a quote on the part, but still waiting for it. Any other place where to order it?
I received a quote from Primrose (South Africa) for $452 USD

I want to have the bike with all the parts and then start making all the tests and find the problem. Maybe the story that he told me is not right, but that the risk i took buying a non running bike.
