Hello to all, joined last year when I bought this machine. I rode home today from work, and the "max" and the "battery" icons are flashing on the lcd. I have no manual for this bike. I checked the battery voltage with the bike off, 12.7 volts. Cranked it up and at IDLE the battery reads 15.2 volts. WTF. Sounds too high to me. Can anyone tell me what the flashing pair of icons mean ?

They'll do that if the head light bulb burns out or a wire came off somewhere and it's lost some of the voltage draw, mine used to blow a head light bulb every other ride.... your voltage at idle is a little high, find the problem and that'll drop back down... That icon means "overcharge". next time you go to your dealer, see if you can get the shop manual on a cd. They don't cost much and tell you everything.... Good Luck....

The headlight is out :) Strange that the regulator doesn't take care of the higher voltage created from the lack of the headlight voltage drop. Thanks for the info !

That's just how precise they're set up.... kinda cool, and the way I look at, the bike is telling me the light is out BEFORE it gets dark !! That's kinda cool too. Happy Trails...
