    Hello,
Could someone PLEASE post the EXACT measurements of the front and rear axles off of a TC 450? I have found a place selling Ti axles and he says he has tons of different sizes in stock. I just need to send him the measurements of these to see if he has something on hand. I need the diameters of each step and the length of each diameter (I'm sure you understand what I need). Thanks for any assistance, obviously if I can get something to work then everybody will benefit from it. Thanks!

I don't have a TC 450 axle to measure but if it is the same as my 2008 125 then I can get those measurements for you. If you find out they are the same let me know. I plan on changing tires tomorrow night.

A Ti Honda rear axle will fit, but you have to use Honda axle blocks.

The front will be harder. Maybe a KTM axle. FBF has a Ti Husky front axle.

I know that FBF has them, but they are like $300 a piece (I know this is going to be expensive, but I don't want to spend that much). That is good to know about the CRF axle. The CRF axle will fit without any issues as long as I use CRF axle blocks? Do the blocks fit without any issues or do I have to grind them down in anyway to make them fit? I can probably find a CRF rear axle used somewhere a bit cheaper than $300, so that is going to be very helpful. Do you know that KTM front will fit or is that just a wild guess? I am just looking at some ways to shed some weight on the TC. Some things that I am going to do are Ti pegs (off a YZF will fit), misc. Ti bolts (especially any bolts up high on the bike such as bars/clamps/etc. and spinning such as rotors and sprockets), Ti rear shock spring (a KYB shock spring will fit), and pneumatic tubeless system (save 2-3 lbs. per wheel which multiplies to A LOT MORE when considering this is spinning weight). I am also using the tank foam which really does help (I used it in '07 and could honestly tell a difference for the better). Thanks for the knowledge, you seriously know EVERYTHING I need to know! Thanks!

I bet the front axle is not interchangeable with any other bikes. It is the largest I have seen, and uses the Zoke forks which come on few bikes.

the YZ Ti pegs will need ground slightly to fit but should not be an issue.

If your hell bent on loosing weight you can drop 3-4.5 pounds with a Ti rear spring.

    The fork brace is unnecessary

Tire selection is good for several unsprung pounds.

A one piece non-adjustable triple clamps like the older Yamahas are very light and that is high placed weigh. Not sure how to address getting one for a husky though... FBF?

    - So are you back racing?

I mentioned the rear Ti spring in my last post and yes that is my plan. I am in fact getting back to racing pretty much full-time this year and words can't describe how excited I am !! Thanks for the comments and can't wait to get my bike!

As I did with my 2007 TC's, I will be running a CRF front fender (which save weight because they don't have a brace) PLUS I am going to run a CRF Cycralite vented front fender which is lighter than a standard fender. Just thought I would share.

Dumb question - do you have the bike yet? I've read several of you posts and... maybe you don't have access to the bike you are going to get?

    What year TC450?

The Honda rear axle and blocks go right on, no mods.

KTM is the only front axle that I know of that close, but I haven't actually checked it.

If you do the SHOWA front end, then a CRF axle will be good.

    Coffee,
I actually do not have the bike, still waiting on the final word from Husqvarna NA, but was told I should be here REAL SOON! I hate filling up the forum with dumb questions like I am, but I just want to have everything ready to bolt on once I do get the bike so I can be riding ASAP. I will post pictures once I get it and everything is done to it, let's just say it is going to be SICK !!

I don't know what rate spring you will need for your bike, but I ordered one of these the other day. RCS 5.6kg/mm Ti spring It's a great buy.

I could probable make a Ti Husky axle if you can't find one and just have to have it.

just another resource (and 'close') is Jim Hickman, of "Atomic 22" (that's the element # for Ti...); try link http://www.atomic22.com/
He would have no problem makng an axle, to match yours. Best luck

They are good questions and will be of interest to others that have yet to take possession of their bikes.

Now that we know that you don't have access to the bike your questions make much more sense, and maybe people will be more willing to go measure things on their bikes to help you out.

I have been trying to gently steer the tech questions into the tech areas, and the main forum is going to be more of a 'hang out' / miscellaneous section - maybe I should call it the 'Kitchen'? It might be better to post these types of questions in the 4stroke section so people can more easily find these types of good threads... years from now. :)

Mtrhead- regarding this spring you reference: RCS 5.6kg/mm Ti spring It's a great buy. How heavy\light of a rider would this spring work for?

That's the stock spring rate, according to the manuals. Seems to be OK for around a 170# rider, IMO.

Thanks everyone for the replies and information, it is very helpful. I guess I should have explained myself a little better earlier on so it wasn't so confusing why I was asking these "dumb" questions (which they would have been dumb if I had a bike sitting in my garage right now, but unfortunately that is not the case....YET!). Just wanted to say, I am getting some AWESOME support this year from companies such as 7602 Racing (PLEASE support the guys that support the brand such as them), P3 Products, Dirt Tricks, and Dirt Digits (with new ones currently in the process of getting finalized). That goes without saying all the help from Husqvarna NA and Hall's Cycles, which without the both of them there wouldn't be ANY racing happening for me in 2009. I will try to do all my great sponsors and Husqvarna proud again this year by putting them in front and on top of the "A" classes. I will also be teaching with Tony D. again this year which is another GREAT exposure area for the bikes and sponsors (I taught all the schools in '07 aboard the TC's and talk about opening some eyes, just the fact that the actual instructor was riding a Husqvarna seemed to amaze people). Thanks again and look forward to talking/meeting everyone on here!

*MOTORHEAD, have you installed that Ti RCS Spring on the Husky yet and if so, how does it fit? I just don't want to order one and then it not work because it is too loose/too tight. Thanks

I don't have the spring yet, but a KYB spring fits and it's for a KYB shock. I'll know for sure in about a week.

Not asking you to be the guinea pig, but please let me know how it fits. I will just wait to hear your answer before I order. I am actually a 5.2 spring rate, so that particular deal won't work but I would still like to know the fitment. You seem to know A LOT about this type of stuff, so I will just wait to hear your answer how exactly how it fits rather than what others might say. Thanks again!
