just ordered my very first brand new bike and its a husky TE250 got her for 9995 with 2 year warrantee. all my other bikes have been pre loved. anyways they want $250 a service :banghead: im a man who has always done his own work since i was ten and cant stand other people touching my bikes or cars. anyways i have to have it serviced and its gona cost $250 on average just wondering what the valve shim clearances should be for her because il measure them all befor i take it in then supply them with my own oil own filters own loctite and the correct shims that way should save some costs and i can keep tabs on my bike.
    cheers

Welcome to CafeHusky, sidquick! And congrats on your brand new bike  Nothing like a new bike, that's for sure!

Why do you have to have it serviced at the dealer? It sounds like you are more than capable of doing the work yourself.

For my 2006 TE250, and I believe yours as well:
    0.10 to 0.15mm (0.004 to 0.006 inches) Intake
    0.15 t0 0.20mm (0.006 to 0.008 inches) exhaust

I've got a hunch you need to let the dealer do the work to keep the warranty valid. Or at least let the dealer think he is doing the work :)
