I am not a current Husky rider but am looking to upgrade to a new bike next year. My question to the experts on this board is would it be smart to purchase a 2009 WR-250 or 300 if they are not going to get the new frame? Is there anyone looking into a crystal ball that can say the 2010's will have the new frame?

I only ask this for the potential re-sale value of the bike. I know that the used bike market in my area is down and I fear that if I purchase a new bike and there are significant changes the next model year I would have difficulty selling it down the road.

Next I am a dedicated two stroker. I went the four stroke route and came back for cost and maintenance reasons. Are the Husky four strokes significantly more dependable than other brands? Has anyone had any major problems with the TXC line? I f I was to make the switch back i would be looking at a TXC 450.

    Thank you for your replies

I owned several WR250's, great bikes. I now own a TXC450 and ride with several guys who have WR250's still, some nice ones at that. For me the TXC450 is hands down a better bike in almost every regard. The husky 4 strokes have been VERY reliable since 05. if i were you i would get the TXC450.

As for the 250/300 WR in a new frame it will have to have an all new motor with the drive on the left side. that's why the 125 got it and not the 250/300. i bet it does not happen for 2010 but it's just s guess.

I have a 08 TXC250 ... My first 4T and it was purchased to ride in the specific place I live now ... I've always been a 2t guy also and I'm hoping this 4t lasts a lot longer than what I been reading on these sites about other brands ... I'm not gonna baby it but I'm not gonna live at the point of the REV limiter either ... So far, no problems and I really like it for single track riding ...

Not sure about the Husky 2010 and newer 2Ts with bmw starting to 'rear its head up', but the previous years 250 \ 300 WRs are very good machines I keep reading and owning one would be a good thing ... I also have a 02 CR250 and it is a beast and a very dependable machine and ... No real issues after 6+ years of riding in GPNF ... No piston or ring changes and it has been years since I have even adjusted the clutch cable ... I hated to leave it behind but I just couldn't bring it with me :( The newer WRs have a much better suspension for woods riding than my CR...

Starting in 010, Husky made a much smaller engine for the 250 lineup...Not sure if this smaller motor made it into the 450s or not...
