Just want to see if this is common. Just got the bike saturday brand new ran it threw a dozen heat cycles and 4 more while riding it. My question is i have a noise that seems to be when its cold or at idle very intermitent somtimes not there but sounds like a metal on metal knock. Doesnt sound anything like valve train my thaughts are the auto decompression im not worried about it to much just wanted to know if it was common with the husky as this is my first husky 4 stroke wich im very happy with as you can see with my thread in the racing forum. Thanks and any opinion would be great.

Also wanted to add that i talked to a tech at Halls cycle today and he thaught maybe the idle was to low and the auto decomp would do that but i do have the idle set kinda high and i also drained the oil into a clean pan with almost no visible metal particals at all.

If you are talking about the chain slap random noise at idle. These motors do that. At least mine does it and about 4 others I have heard run. I am not saying that is right but I think you are O.K. I will have to listen to mine again as I do not notice it very much anymore.

Check your engine mounting bolts and make sure the front two are tight; one is under the skid plate and one above it. My son's came lose and the engine made a metal to metal knocking sound. Also check your rear sprocket bolts they don't make noise but they need to have lock-tite on them as they back out also. Congrats on the bike they are sweet!

Just an update on the noise i was hearing. I got the waterpump impeller update from Halls on friday and the original impellar was very loose on the shaft installed the new one with a touch of locktite now the noise is all gone.

Thanks for the update now if our dealer could find the carb and waterpump update parts it would be great. Heck we are even going to install them.

Halls has all the parts in stock for the carb and the water pump i didnt feel like waiting either so i just baught them from halls and im glad i did. The new impellar was cheap $6 plus a $2 dollar gasket deff worth not over heating a new motor for a 10 dollar fix.

Is it actually a different impeller? The TSB I received said to only replace it if it came loose and got buggered up.

Gee only $8.00 I think we'll call Halls. Our dealer won't be getting any more business from me and I am tired of waiting at this point. Thanks Henner MX.

What i was told is it was a different casting but they do look the same but mine was very loose so im glad i caught it in time. And yes Halls Cycles has alot of parts in stock and are great people and one of the parts guys owns a TC250 and hes very helpful on this particular model also.
