I am currently considering purchasing a new TE510. My past two rides have been TE450's, a 2006 and presently a 2008. I have been relatively happy with the 450's more so the 2006 but the 2008 model has reduced my confidence a little. Rear brake line rubbing on engine case, exhaust pipe burning hole in air box, failed tempature sensor, vibrations, faulty speedo, premature chain breakage leading to further damage and an absolute useless sidestand all within 2500klms has made me consider a KTM 530. To complicate things I have heard of the KTM530 burning oil and problems with the cam chain tensioner. Although, everyone I know who owns a KTM530 absolutley loves them. The KTM is about $1500- $2000 dearer and has only a 3month warranty as opposed to 12 months for the Husky + Husky currently have a promotional offer of $1500 worth of goodies included. I love the smooth torque and power delivery of the KTM but am unsure if the Husky has the same type of torque/tractor like qualities as the last TE510 I rode was a 2005 model. Have Husky addressed these little niggling problems I experienced with the 2008 model TE450 or are they still prevalent ??? Apart from better value for money why should I purchase a TE510 over the KTM530 ??? Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated...
