Could someone let me know if the SMR 511 has the same maintenance intervals as the TE? I'm assuming it would (oil & filter every 500km/10hrs, valve clearance every 1500km/30hrs, tear down the motor every 3500km/70hrs).

    Thanks!

I think they have the exact same motor so I would say yes. Gearing might be different but maintenance should be same.

How often for con rod? Is this included when you 'tear down the motor or are you just talking piston and rings?

Yeah i'd like to hear from people that have cracked their motors open at 3500km for an inspection. Bet (hope) they are fine.

Odd? i own a SMR511 2011(in Australia.) My service are 1000km for breaking in period. then every 5000km for oil changes. the Dealer ship said they barely have to touch the valves even at 15,000km i've put 5450kms on mine so far and running awesome! Has full pipe on it with Australian husqvarna racing tune happy as i can be. :)

Where did you get those figures? Top end is at 12,000 miles. That's ~19,000 km, 3500 km would be crazy! Those intervals would most likely be for the TC's. They have more power than the TE's hence faster engine wear.

I have 9,000 miles on my 2011 SMR. Just done oil changes and tires. I figured I will check the valves this winter when I do the breather mod to the valve cover.
I change my oil around 500 miles...

    I'm currently thinking about purchasing a 2011 SMR 511.
It has done 3600km and I was quite shocked when I saw the advised maintenance schedule for the bike, like the 3500km engine rebuild.

Now it seems like this isn't really needed and the bike can do twice to triple the amount of mileage before needing a rebuild?.
If this is the case I'm pretty sure I will buy an SMR 511 since it's the best bike available if you ask me!.
Offcourse I understand the bike needs more maintenance compared to your regular road going bike, this isn't a problem since I can do all the maintenance myself.

Its what the dealer tells me But because of the tune i have on it Its a lot lower. i keep a close eye on it Not like i flog it every where i go full throttle no need to do that 100km change.

Sorry about that, 1. Valve cover gasket = $30.08 2. (2) Semi-sphere shims, both intake valves loose = 2@ $6.48 3. Oil filter $17.24 4. syn oil 1ltr drum 2@ $13.50. Labor= $329.00 total = $416.28 Took two mechanics over 6hrs. to figure out what had to be loosened and move out of the way just to get at everything charged 4hrs. They said don't bring it back LOL.
