Are there any differences between 2012 and 2014 CR125?
    Thanks,

    I'm confused. I don't even see a CR125 in the 2014 line up.

I imagine if they did have a 14 it would mirror the 13. Any difference between the 12 and 13?

I just picked up a 14 and it is identical to my 12 except the 14 has black wheels, different bar mount, different chain guide, slightly different graphics.

The biggest difference though is nearly perfect jetting with the stock carb! It runs so strong I actually opened the box with the 144 kit to make sure they didn't install the 144 from the factory! My 12 was impossible to get right even after RB modded it, I think there must have been something wrong with it like a passageway didn't get drilled out or something.

Thanks and I heard the 12 had needle issues. I was told to make sure I get the correct RM needle before I purchase it. Has me worried even though I can get it for $3499.

swapping a carb needle? Should be EZ to get it to run right. You can always buy the JD jetting kit, it runs very good.

That price is good on a 12. I tried every needle and jetting combo known to man and it never ran right, I ended up putting a 36mm keihin air striker 2 on my 12 and it immediately ripped. I fully expected to swap the carb on my 14 but it runs perfect. After reading so many varying jetting setups and problems with the mikuni I have come to the conclusion that they have a quality control problem.

Bottom line..... Expect to replace the carb. You might get lucky and get one that works and if you don't your out a couple bucks for a different carb. Buy the bike, fix the carb, you won't be dissapointed and can't beat the price.

One other thing..... I've got a new keihin 36 that I planned on putting on the 14 but it doesn't need it. If you buy the bike and find out you need a carb I will sell you it for a deal.

Okay, I really appreciate the input and thanks so much for the offer. Can you tell me if there is any difference in handling on your 14 in terms of suspension, motor, etc.?
    Thanks,
    Rob

The bike is exactly the same as far as handling and suspension goes. I am very impressed with the motor on the 2014 but that's because it runs perfectly where as I had quite a battle with the 2012. The 2012 carb was such a nightmare that I started questioning my mechanical/jetting ability. I am very stubborn and confident in my tuning ability, to the point that I probably spent way more time trying to make the stock carb run right than I should have. When I bolted on the Keihin and it ran perfect I wanted to punch myself in the face.

I need to pull the 2014 carb apart and see what jetting is in it compared to the 12, if I do I will post the results.

The only difference that would effect the handling of the bike is the bar mount. The 12 has quite a high mount, about 3/4 inch higher than the 14. I'm a tall guy but have learned over the years that lower bars are usually better

What kind of price have you been able to find on a 2014? If the difference is not that significant I would go with the 14. Where are you located?

Nephew has a 13 CR125, jetting just needed a 32.5 pilot and clip in 2nd slot from sea level to about 3500, then just go to top clip and race gas.
450 main was stock, stock needle was a 6DEY15-74. Same jetting for both 125 and 144
Am preparing a 165 kit and have lots of Keihin jets so will likely set it up with a 36 PWK AS - PM me a price on your new one, I may buy if Rob1965 isnt a buyer.

Hey TNT - I would be REALLY interested in hearing what jetting specs are in your 2014.

Installing a 450 main in my son's CR125 really woke it up.

I'd like to hear what jetting you're all using with the 144 top ends and TMXX? I recently bought a 2014 and put the 144 jug on, but haven't ridden it yet. I noticed Husky provided some different jets and needle in the box, but not sure if they're really necessary. Stock pipe & FMF TCII silencer. Close to sea level. Any advice?
