Hello, I am about to join the husky family. I have a 2012 TE250 lined up to purchase. This is the lower seat height model. I want to be able to convert this bike to a supermoto. Just the basic wheels and breaks. Would still like to be able to somewhat easily put it back to dirt. My questions are. Is the caliper mount for the 2012 the same as older models? Want to make sure that there is a front break adapter for a 320mm rotor. Also, if there are wheels out there that fit without to much hassle? Just looking to do some trial riding and the occasional supermoto trackdays.
Go with Warp 9 wheels they fit good and have an awesome warranty. They will come with a caliper relocation bracket. I'm not a fan of their brake rotor or sprocket, they come with the wheels though and even if you throw them out the price on the package is good. My son has been running them for 2 seasons and they work great without breaking the bank. run the stock Brembo caliper it's more than enough for a 250.
You can get them from J.R. here on café husky he has a place called toxic moto. I just got my warp 9's through him and ended up take very good care of. There was a delay at warp 9 so he got me a floating rotor upgrade from them for the delay! Also he can get you a 16.5 front from warp 9 and motostrano cant (I went with 17 for tire availability). http://www.toxicmotoracing.com/ dudes in the middle of redoing his website so most of the stuff is not on there. He works much closer with warp 9 than motostrano.
