2012 Txc310. Should I Buy It ?

Looking at one super nice low hour txc310 for $ 3000
Any reason why I shouldn’t buy it ?
Is that a good price ?

Any info and advice will be appreciate.

Also looking at a 2013 TC250 R

I will be trail riding on these bike.
I am just adding another bike to the garage

Still riding my '13 te310R, Still enjoy it and don't look forward to sorting a new 11k bike yet. If the bike is running well and well cared for sounds reasonable. Only issues I had heard when I had my engine rebuilt a couple of years ago was replacing a cylinder. Other parts are around.

I'd buy it. 310 is a great bike.

I spent $9k on a 2019 husky only to have the engine lock up at 50 hours cause of a crappy plastic oil pump gear.

In my opinion still a bike you can win any competition with. The redhead have the Keihin fuel injection and a couple of hp more. Dont remember if the 2013 TE/TXC have the KYB suspension? The 2014 have that. Other than that same bike as 13/14. I would buy the TXC before the TC. Electric start and wider gearbox is something you will appreciate when trailriding. Wouldnt pay $3000 though. Not because its not worth it. More because it will get harder to find parts. Still not an issue but it will. 2500 is more realistic, at least here in Sweden. I have a TE310 -14, totaly restored. If not as new its close. Will not sell it but IF I would I wouldnt ask more than $2500. I would pic the 310 11-14 any day if compared to a newer Husky. Have compared and tried plenty and I can still not understand why the Italians couldnt sell this bike more than they did? Be aware of that you will have problems with suspension tuning and if unlucky problems with the decomp spring. Everything has been solved in this forum

If it's in really good shape it's a reasonable price for the US. The 2012 TXC 310 had the better ECU from the factory than the TE 310 and should run pretty well. A downside is it's not street legal but depending on where you live maybe you can convert it over.

I'm still on a 2013 310R, bought new and 7 years later still trail riding it. Runs great and still looks pretty good. About 100 hours and never had to adjust the valves. Of course I threw the electric starter away years ago, kicks easy enough. I think it is a great package and sorry it went extinct. Plan on taking it to Croom motorcycle park, here in Florida tomorrow.

I have a TE with the TXC stuff and it runs great. $3K seems pretty good. Street legal TE might bring a little more if it was important to the buyer

If it is super fine and low hour I would buy it immediately. Recently I've done the same thing with an high our and rusty 310R that now, fully restored, is looking new and super super nice. Same as the pic in my profile... I love it. According to me these bikes made in Varese are awesome and despite some issues and stupid little problems (that also newer ktm has) they are far better and nicer than newer Husqvarna's...simply because they are real husqvarna's, new ktm-husqvarna's are indian crap without soul

What I can say about these bikes is that NO other bike has as good balance. 2018 I sold my last 310 to a friend. Have had 3 of them. 2011 and two 2014. Bought a new -18 Gasgas ec250. I like it very much but I miss the 4stroke. Made it easy and bought back one of my old ones. The only bike I would perhaps change it for is a Yamaha wrf250. Its not worth $6000 in between though. I cant still understand why the italians did not sell more of these bikes. In my opinion a milestone in the enduro history. Will keep this one for many years now.

Sorry, but Real Huskies were made in Sweden :-) I worked for them back then. As you can see from my profile picture , I had a 310. Great bike. Didn't SWM take over these things so parts availability shouldn't be an issue l

You are right, but for me that I live 100 km next to Husqvarna-Cagiva and now SWM factory, italian made Husqvarna's are real Husqvarna's. New husqvarna's are white ktm's, new gas gas will be a red ktm, husaberg disappered...how disgusting.

Yes dirtdame, ktm has always had the charctheristic of a lighter front end and a manageable and ballistic chassis. I will always resist in buying a new husqvarna

I had a 2011 te310, then a 2013 txc 310.
Both were great bikes.
Comparing them to a ktm/husky 350, I liked the power of the 310’s better.
Felt lighter and more revvy!
Comparing to the 2017 and newer 2 strokes, the newer are nicer, but you can’t touch one for the 3k money.

I bought this one for $2800.00 last year and am happy. Lucked out and the guy had suspension all done for 200 lb. rider, which I am.

To clarify this post with historical data ( because lots of photos posted here are X-Lite Red head (BMW head engine bikes)
the MY 2012 TXC310 is the black head model X-lite before the BMW re-designed Red Head was added to the X-Lite motor on the offroad model.
I had modded my 2011 TE310 Black head X-Lite with a 2010 TC250 Ti muffler and a TXC310 ECU.
I loved Both my modified (ex LR) 2011 TE310 Black head model and the (Husky NA factory demo) 2013 TXC310R Red head, but from my racing experience the blackhead was more bullet proof and never failed with lots of bullet proofing mods mostly ZipTy racing gear, my 2013 TXC310R had a complete engine fail at low hours (but hard/ride/race hours) even with all the ZipTy bullet proof stuff.

So basically my 2011 TE310 was converted into a 2012 TXC310 spec bike, or specifically a CH Racing FIM world enduro TE310 . And this bike is still alive as a casual trail bike with the guy I know who bought from me.
