Well, DDR is gearing up for the 63rd edition, March 14th, on our new property, so almost all new trail. Hoping a few of you CH'ers can make it down. Sent out 1000 entries to past participants. Vinduro, you should have got yours by now. Hope you'll be healed up by then. A possibility we'll have the Husky Demo fleet there. Plus with new property we will be back to our traditional Thursday date. I've got the 3rd section to layout & I'm also backup trail boss. A lot of them "fast guys" will race the River Ranch GNCC on Tuesday, the Alligator Thursday & the General GNCC on Sunday. It'll be a busy 10 weeks, plus throw in a couple FTR races to boot....
This race is a National Classic!! If I was anywhere near it I would bust my arse to get there and get my arse busted doing it!!
Just a little preview http://blip.tv/b98899/alligator-2013-preview-6538370 by one of the kids. (I wish they could swing a machette as well as they can helmetcam, lol) If you're in the Southeast, you may not get a chance to ride the Alligator with as much NEW trail as we'll have this year. The landowner just added 1200 acres to my section 3 weekends ago. Take a mini vacation, drive down Wed, the race is on Thurs & then ya have a couple days to get home.
Nope, gas prices are killing our entries IMO. We're usually taking names for a waiting list by now. Last 3 yrs we haven't sold out. Gus, that leaves room for you & you're TC250!!! As far as mileage goes, we should be right around 60 ground miles with only around 3-4 being transfer miles. My stuff is part (8.5mi) of section 2 which will be between 17-18 miles of pure Florida heaven !!!
Working on row assignments now, they will be on Mototally. I'll post the link ASAP. Mileage will be finalized this weekend. Had some good rain on Monday&Tuesday to help keep the dust down.
Row assignments are ready................. http://www.moto-tally.com/FTR/Enduro/StartingGrid.aspx?EY=2012&EID=7 where are u mxer
Alligator Race Report- starting with an almost perfect weather day, no clouds 38f to start getting into mid 60s, but with dry conditions made it just a little dusty. Very few problems with no serious injuries. Mike Lafferty wins #13, this guy LOVES this terrain & is an animal on a bike. Beat teammate Farringer by 3mins & Bobbitt by another 7(I think he got lost in section 2). Like every year some guys said it was the best Alligator ever & some said it was terrible, lol. Saw a few Huskies there but I was in the woods the whole time & didn't get to talk to anyone. I'll link some videos when they get posted.
Here's Tom M's video. He's one of our Golden Master A(59-65) riders. My section was from 8:55 to 12:15. Got a little dusty but course held up well. View: http://vimeo.com/62169213
