Ok...I wanted to post some issues I am having...my bike has about 1,000 miles on it...mostly street. Recently I wanted to ride more dirt, but it flamed out going slow and at bad times. From reading this is common.

I have a JD tuner and my stock exhaust has the CAT removed. I was able to make it a little better with the JD tuner, but it was still stalling more that I thought it should.

I recently sent the ECU to Zipty to get the latest flash and now I am having trouble getting it to run properly.

    1. Removed the 2nd butterfly
    2. removed emision conister - plugged it at engine and plugged it at tank filler
    3. Put ECU back in with the new flash - jumper for race map 2

The dash shows race map 2.....it starts fine, but won't take throttle very well..it just wants to die...it will rev, but if I put it in gear it cuts off.

I tried this with the JD tuner and I unplugged the tuner and it still about the same.

I have done a lot of reading and thought this was going to be the cure for my original problem but now I'm getting frustrated.

What direction should I go in....maybe put the 2nd butterfly back in???

It should say race map 2 on the dash right....not race map 3??? I wasn't sure if the dash words would be different.

Thanks for any help. I like the bike and I have dirt wheels and supermoto wheels, but I really wanted a dirt bike...it was my brothers bike so I am a little new to it.

I don't ride that hard on the trails, but the stalling at low speeds is really annoying. If I can solve that I would be extremely happy.

    Thanks for any help.

I'm doing more reading and finding some things to try....I haven't given up...but seems like I may just have to get a PCV to make it run at it's best.

Well...I went back through everything....removed the JD tuner and started back at sock mapping (removed race map 2 jumper). I had to adjust the air screw out to closer to 2 3/4 turns to make it happy. It idles and doesn't flame out/cutoff right away so that was better. I reset the TPS a couple of times...not sure how to tell if it really resets or not.

I can only test in my driveway and street..not dirt yet.

I then put the race map 2 jumper back in....still idles ok and wasn't stalling when I put it in gear....it does have a perkier throttle...maybe the is because of the second butterfly out..or new ecu flash...not sure which.

I then connected JD tuner to it...that does make it a smoother running motor...it is noticeable. I probably need to tweak my settings on the JD...I am not that familiar with it yet. A few runs up and down the street....several hard slow downs and 1st gear turns....only 1 flame out so far. It is better and I am sure with some more tweaking it may help.

I can't believe how frustrated a motorcycle can make me.

Still curious how it will work on the trails......I really want to have confidence in this bike, but I'm not there yet.

    So...as is stands.

ECU flash to map 3 by ZipTy
    2nd butterfly out
Airscrew out to 2 3/4 turns
    Race map 2 jumper in
    JD Tuner on

Getting closer...I hope I ride this thing as many hours as I have spent researching and messing with it.

See all the guys here happy at some point keeps my trying...thanks.

    Hi Sunbrother

I'm having a problem with my bike cutting out just off idle.
I was wondering if you figured it out yet?

    Thanks

I did get it better with the setting above, buy not to my satisfaction. I think the power commander could be a good option but it was too expensive for me. The bike ran great on the street but not the trails. With much regret...I sold it and bought a CRF 450x for trail riding. I know it sounds bad but the honda doesn't stall on me at all and starts right up....I really wanted that husky to work for my trail bike.

I know there a folks out there that had success getting them right, but I did not. I had a friend that rode it and he is a very aggressive rider and it didn't stall on him much...maybe once...but my style just didn't mesh with it on the trails.
