http://www.omnimoto.it/magazine/11776/husaberg-gamma-2014-fe-te-125-250-350-450-501 big news is the all new 250 4T motor design...all else refined (blu KTMs) as usual
But we have to admit they do look better than the orange bikes and.....they have the sweet blue rims . I just keep hoping the blue rims are the only major parts they bolt onto the new Huskys.
I'll probably update my '12 Husaberg TE250 for a '14 TE250, as they won't be available anymore. It's a very good bike and a little more different than a KTM than many realize....
My Husaberg sales in 13 were easily my best ever. With customers I am finding there is safety in numbers. Dirt bikes have become a big investment and having support from aftermarket and within your own riding group makes the customer more comfortable. For example we have a big trail ride event every fall and the vendor and well over 70% of the bikes there are KTM/Husaberg. If you have issues and own a KTM the odds of you getting back going are greatly increased. I was the vendor there for a couple of years and we saved many rides that weekend with levers, shifters, plastic and sprockets. Several guys came by looking for Yamaha and Honda parts and we tried to help by calling local dealers but most of them could not find parts to save the weekend. Like it or not you cannot change the fact that the KTM group has become such a dominate force in off road in the US that they are squeezing out their competition. This year I have had more ardent anti-KTM guys finally switch and a lot of them bought Bergs. I know that is a hard pill to swallow for some but it is what it is. Don't look for KTM to take their foot off the gas anytime soon either. They sense the momentum and I believe that they see Husqvarna falling into their laps as another opportunity to take even more market share.
I think Bergs are good bikes .. ... I have a friend coming back and forth from Australia that has a 390 of some version... He was really impressed with my 2010 TC250s ... Myself, I'm riding the Husqvarna brand ... You know, because I have 5 of them ... My rider Ayen kicking JAP 4 bangers to the curb on a ~stock 08 WR 250 ...Its a very short run-up to this corner ...He's using the clutch to get the bike to jump like that ..Yea baby, dirt bike riding skills! ... Its a Husky world and I'm neck deep it and no changes in sight ...
Why no changes to the Berg? What's the real reason here guys? lol I know it was reported here somewhere all future bikes are just re-badged (lol) ... What happened? lol ... Speak up experts! lol
I'm thinking a closeout '14 'Berg TE 250 may be in my future. I rode my buddy's '13 250 XCW last weekend, and it was, admittedly, very nice. I'll wait to see what the first new Huskies look like, but I have to say I have always kind of liked the 'Bergs. And now that they're going away...
'13 and '14 TE250's come with 20mm offset clamps, my '12 came with 22's. Once I changed to 20's the bike was much better in the tight stuff. '14 also has some second year improvements over '13. Nice bike!
Life goes on even in the bike world ... As long parts are available for the bikes we have now or buying one of these closeout bergs sounds like just taking advantage of the times ... These are all very cool dirt bikes ... I've rode some japanese 450 bikes a little lately and they were easy to ride and felt good, but heavy to load and unload ... I'll be sticking with the Husqvarna brand for now ..
Sounds good to me but I'll be needing better than average returns on a couple of my endeavors before any more purchases ... So I'll be behind the power-curve at least a yr or 2 ... It'd really be a full on luxury to have a cool 450cc Husqvarna MX racer at the tracks here ...
