This is the weekend, guys! Harsh! Jmart crashed his brains out. Over the bars club. http://motocross.transworld.net/100...tions-jeremy-martins-qualifying-heat-crash-2/
Hope he's alright ... Pretty good camera work to catch that rear-end kick ... I can almost comprehend how these riders do most of what they do on the tracks ... But ruts on any take-off ramp are beyond me ... I have enough trouble with ruts on flat ground leading to more flat ground ..
Well I'm eating crow. I called France out and criticized their team selection, but they did it. Congrats to France, and all the teams that competed. Tomac was pretty amazing both motos, with fastest lap of each moto, and the weekend. Problem was he started out mid-pack 1st moto, next-to-last second moto. Exciting ride with the speed to win it, minor tip-over held him to third. Bad break for Martin. Dungey had best moto score for USA but still left me feeling "meh".
Decoster on Martin: Let’s talk about Jeremy Martin real quick: broken toes, broken foot probably, a bad crash. He really gutted it out. He didn’t get the great finishes, but he did well. I think he did awesome considering his injury. It’s amazing that he was able to ride. We didn’t want to sacrifice a start position for the 450, so we put him on the outside. On this track it was a big handicap on the 250, especially on the 250. He did not whine, he did not complain about his pain, his injury, and all that. He showed a lot of toughness. Tomac:Racer X: Terrific second moto ride by you. But still at the end of the day, you’re one of those guys I think you put the team ahead of your individual rides, and for that you’re probably pissed.Eli Tomac: I’m pissed. I don’t get on an airplane to come over here twenty hours and to fail like that. Martin: The track was rough, maybe one of the roughest I have ridden in a while, and I had a blast. The foot injury is no excuse; I learned a lot and sometimes you do that more when you are down than when you win. —Post Race Press Conference
champagne, fois gras, baguettes, fromage, Vin blanc vin rouge as well, the breakfast of French Champions. They certainly breed some great off road Moto rider there, both men and women. PS im a Gaultier Paulin (1-1 MXoN) fan, that guy is a blast (one of Meo's buddies) View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZehy2xTyGA
I too didn't think France had the right guys. It pained me to see them on the podium....because crow is awful going down (hard to swallow). I certainly expected more from our guys though JMAR did really well considering and Tomac had to dodge traffic. In his first moto I thought, at one point, Tomac might due the usual. But it looked like he grew tired. As for #theangryDungey, I thought he'd wear the guys up front down- like he does here. That too never happened. Oh well, I guess I'll just pack up my gear, head to Cahuilla Creek MX and think about it (or not). I will say a real highlight was the Fro calling things. Cool having Emig make the calls.
Your second moto, somebody told me you were two seconds faster than Gautier, best lap time to lap time. You were on it. You had to have been feeling good. To me you looked like you were riding very angry, because your feet were coming out and you were kind of herky-jerky. You were angry. I was pissed. I was angry. I stalled my bike. I was almost to Van Horebeek; I was right there on him and then stalled the bike. I actually went to an old fork that I had in the nationals. It was night and day. I changed my front end and it was night and day. First moto I was getting arm pump. I’m like, maybe it’s just the funky Euro dirt, but I’m like, “No, something’s not right.” I should have been on that fork all week. If I would have had my awesome front end [all weekend], it wouldn’t have been an issue. I wish there was some more soil like this in America. We need some sand. Your first moto, JT and I were talking about it. It looked like maybe you got up to Leok and you know how it works, you can’t get by somebody right away, so then you started getting into their speed. We thought maybe that happened to you, but was it more of a case of arm pump? Yeah, a case of arm pump. I came off the track not even breathing, that’s how bad I was tightened up. You looked like you were going to zoom by him. Yeah, then I got stuck and got arm pump.
I thought our team would do better but it is what it is. As a side note and for what it's worth, ET is going to be a force to reckon with next year at home. I like a guy that has the balls to say he is pissed when he is. IMO, many if not most of the interviews seem to be scripted.
Tomac was wicked fast,I still would have rather seen Canard instead of Dungey, maybe Baggett instead of Martin,Baggett is always fast on a rough track.
Alright, watched Moto 3 again the other night. Pretty convinced Tomac isn't from earth. If not for the stall, he wins the 3rd moto.
Finally saw the motos on youtube ... Any country that wins the open and mxgp classes and 3rd in MX2 is gonna be hard to beat for the trophy and France did exactly that. All their finishes were in the top 10? Not sure the states could have beaten them even with good starts ... Not sure what happened to RD5 in the last race ... I think our guys rode well with all that happened ... ESP Martin riding hurt and ESP the last race where we had to show some guts to pull something out ... Pretty crazy Eli changes forks between motos ... Husqvarna got the holeshot in moto 1
