    Howdy,
I just picked up my 2015 te300 this Saturday. My last bike was a 2013 ktm 300 xcw, so while familiar with the motor, the 4cs forks and linkage are new.

I've read whats available here on the te300s. It sounds like:

Jetting. Stock settings are better than on the ktm 300s. Stock needle ok, or do I need the JD kit?

4cs. The base valve in the 2014 models was a poor design, resulting in harsh handling in square edge bumps. It sounds like there is no shortage of tuners to massage. I plan on respringing the suspension for my weight. 170 in street clothing. How easy is it to changes springs in the 4cs?

Linkage. After riding a pds bike for the last 6 years, my only complaint was handling in more high speed sections so I'm looking forward to seeing how the linkage behaves. I am cognizant that the linkage is more prone to catching on logs and rocks. In the ecea enduro series a significant portion of the events have rock sections so this is a concern. Whats most recommended for protection? Fastway guard? Other?

I cant wait to get this bike out in the woods.
    Thumbs up.

Slavens Racing has linkage skid for a great price. I would set sag and ride it before re springing it. You're bas the target weight for that bike.

    Enjoy the new bike!!

Ala Pink Floyd, is there anybody out there?

    ;)

For servicing the 4cs forks, will the open chamber fork cap wrench work?

I bought the cap removal tool from Slavens when I ordered my springs. It was like $25 and works really good. Spring removal is super easy with no fluid loss.

I talked with factory connection today, the tech was of the opinion that the existing springs should work for my weight though I might have to go up a spring rate in the fork springs. It'd be great if I didn't have to dump another few hundred into the bike for replacement springs. Tbd.

I buy my bikes from Mike@motofit in Danbury CT. Great shop with big selection of KTM and Husky models.

I bought the same cap from them and it snapped off on the second fork. Looks like them milled it to thin where the nut part meets the round part. On the suspension you may want to call Zip Ty. Pretty sure that's who I'm going with. BTW congrats on your new bike, enjoy.

Thanks for this info. And yes, zt certainly has no shortage of positive reviews here.

In the mean time, all the woods guards arrived today from the shop, so Ill be getting those bits bolted on and sag set.

You can plate them here too. No different than a 4 stroke. Illinois just wants your money, they only pretend to be environmentalists.

We buy Husky's from a dealer here in NJ that somehow has a way of plating them... Don't ask, just pay the man! ;-)

Mso from the state of purchase doesnt stipulate as to if its street or offroad, just motorcycle.

So, submit the forms, pay the tax, and receive plate. Ride motorcycle. Smile. Repeat.

Its all good unless and educated police officer pulls you over. In my state (Mn) at least they could pull your plate and revoke the title.... just saying. But same here they just want your money.....

Any KTM, Husaberg or White Husky, sold by a dealer in NY, has a restricted MSO... Off Road Use Only. If I buy the same bike from a PA dealer, it has no restriction. This why I bought my '12 Husaberg and now my '15 Husky in PA, instead of my home State NY. All my 2T bikes, are street plated. A street plated Off Road 4T bike, is just as illegal, as a 2T bike, in a State that requires EPA compliance for street registration.

To add to what Norm said I also believe NJ doesn't have the restricted MSO, as my riding buddy just bought a 2015 & got a NJ plate for it :applause: .

MSO restrictions differ state to state. I just returned from the dmv. No issues and plate in hand.

I'm heading to the garage now to prep for this weekend,

So a couple thoughts coming out of the garage.

    1. For plunking down $9k on an enduro bike, why on earth can't it come equipped with real handguards? So off come the stock shields and on go Enduro engineering clamps, guards, and shields.

    2. Off comes the oem computer and on goes the ICO. Why is it that manufacturers do not build this simple mathematic rules based model functionality into the oem computers is beyond me.

    3. Husqvarna Power Parts radiator guard (part 80335936144) does not fit my bike, no matter what the husky power parts site indicates. Which of course, I didn't learn until after draining the coolant and removing one of the radiators. Oh, and of course one has to first remove, the seat, shrouds, and tank before removing the radiator.

    4. On goes the p3 carbon fiber pipe guard. USA made right in the great state of NJ.

Tomorrow, I'll install the bib mousse, rear brake reservoir extender, check the sage and should be set for Monday's ride.

So any recommendations on radiator guards? I ran the enduro engieering guards on my KTM but found they flared out the shrouds too much to attach them properly to the tank.
