Hello - I purchased a billet intake manifold for my '87 250WR to replace the NLA disintegrating rubber one on my bike. When I went to install it didn't fit because there is a white plastic flow transition piece fits in the reed cage and extends into the intake manifold. I took a look at the parts manual to see what is going on, and it appears Husky only used this transition piece on the '86, '87 and '88 250 models. The 400/430 did not get them even though they use the same intake and reed cage. Has anyone else just removed this transition when switching to a billet intake? I'm guessing I won't really won't notice a difference but curious if anyone else has other opinions. Thanks.

Your either need to cut the white part off, use an original 430 reed cage, or get a V-Force reed set up.
I would grind the white piece off. I've run both stock and V-Force. Stock if in good condition run just as good for the average joe. IMHO
