When I ordered an air filter also ordered a fuel filter, thankfully they rang and told me it's $2500. Just getting my kit together for my biggest adventure, filters, minimum tools and gear to fix the things I can on the road. Now according to my dealer the filter and pump is as one and not serviceable, I have concerns about getting a crook load of fuel which is common in the remote areas of OZ. So to strain the rust and particles a neck filler sock will be needed but there is no drain on the bottom of the tank to drain off $2.60/ Litre water. Not keen on drilling a hole in the plastic tank. Any thoughts.
Thinking outside the square, what if you installed a fuel/water separator/filter between the fuel pump & injector hose (16)? I'm sure that Husqvarna would advise against this and you'd have to make sure that pressure drop wasn't excessive. Most FI cars have an external filter after the submersible pump so the principle is similar.
Good grief, $2500 for a fuel pump assembly? I bought a spare for my WRR and it was about $200 US, including the filter. So the ass'y is about 2275 US +/-. Is that because it's a BMW product?
Get a threaded insert plastic welded into the bottom of the tank. They will let you know if it's safe to do on a tank that's had petrol in it.
