I know it is a little early, but I'm ready for this rematch ... Our MX champs are pretty much set so I hope our racing finishes cleanly ...
Just never felt RD5 new 450 bike was 100% setup correctly till this yr ... He just did not look like his usual self in some of the past USA races (since moving off that SUZ) and ESP last yr in Belgium, till this year...

I'm one guy who hopes the world has all their best at this race, including those 350s riders... RV2 and RD5 and Eli (?) are gonna make a statement on what country has the fastest MX dirt bike racers currently...

So, it runs one month after Motocross ends.....

What will the US guys do in the interim?

Not sure but even a young guys body needs some recovery time... The SX and MX seasons has gotta be grueling enough... In this case, I'd guess 7-10 days off and then back on the bike and DeCoster should be calling ...

When are the official names of the riders announced?

It seems like they announce the team around the Unidillia round. Don't quote me on that though.

RD5 had a short but pretty exciting moto with 350 Cairoli a couple yrs back ...

That moto was back in the day when most thought a 350 could not run with a 450 ... Cairoli was hanging on to RD5 out front and for some reason, he kept trying a quad jump from an inside line and came up a couple feet short each time and finally hurt his knee or something and fell off the pace ...

    --
Last year we all saw the 350s slaughter the 450s in each & all motos ... in that deep sand when HP reigns supreme? Another 450 myth busted ...

RV2 and RD5 are born 350 slayers ... Prepare your riders accordingly ...

According to unofficial sources the 350 makes very close to the same HP as the 450 (KTM for sure wont say). Its just on a completely different curve of course. Our "High tech" MX singles are nowhere near the HP per CC range at hiher RPM that we see in F1 for example. The Kato 350 is more F1 than the 450, high RPM lower reciprocating mass.
As an add on, Ive met 222 that guy is like see below (I really dont know his listed weight but he is super gracile like a jockey). Power to weight ratio on the 222 machine is super high and g force loading is low. Oh yea and TC222 is among the very best sand riders in the world (Herlings is arguably the best), our team got eaten in and by the sand last time out.
Add to the advantage factor that we have 50 states of riders to choose from, the other countries especially the EU have smaller areas and populations than alot of our single states.

I went and got it--- Height/Weight, 175 cm/70 kg other sources list him as 64Kg
141lb- maybe he has put on more weight with training time and age, 154lb 5'7"

    Now it makes sense.

I just remember AS29 saying they had to add more bottom-end to the 350 for sx racing when he got on it ... Then once it reportedly got torn down by the officials after a race and it was a 350cc engine ... Not sure on that but it was out there somewhere ...

    --
Both those 350 riders are world champs ... Don't be surprised if they win all the motos again ... But I'm not betting on that ... If RV2 races, and gets his nose in front, he'll drop them all.

    --
The competition level along the way means alot I think for riders ... You are most likely gonna be a product of your surroundings .... We might have alot of riders but so do a few other countries that do not have much if anything to show.

I might try to find a sports bar and go watch this one live ...

wowo and thanks for this info ... Too bad if he does not ride ... I still like the USA chances for the overall and at least 1 moto win ... RD5 is dialed it for this yr I think ...

It's a wonder all these young guys aren't about cripple after a few yrs doing the SX and MX stuff ... That's another reason why only certain guys can win over the long haul of time ... All of us are not physically able to take that level of punishment over the long haul ... This is ESP true of guys like Ty Davis going the enduro type racing over a life time almost ... The HOF is for guys like him ...

    --
I'm 100% OK with JB51 ... He's got 1 (?) yr of experience under his belt at MXdN racing (and finished very well last yr) and raced very well in both sx and MX on that 450 ... But gotta ask... Why not Stew?

Too bad and its very hard to get all top riders on the same track at the same time but this is just a MX race and not the most important thing happening in life ..

    I'm saying RD5 with his finally-tuned 450, makes a statement ...

This is just an open class race right? No 250/450?

Seems to be different sized bikes in each of the 3 races ... These are very cool races... Different riders from different classes mixing it up ... And as far as i know, the open class is always a 4-fitty so it would be a down-grade to have such a race there like that ...

The scoring for the event works on the position system, i.e. first place is awarded one point, second place two, etc. Each class (currently MX1, MX2 and Open) races twice, each time against one of other two classes, for a total of three races. The worst score of three races is dropped, and the lowest combined score wins.
