Anyone else with an '11 model rubbing their sprocket through the chain guide block? Mine is pretty severe, right out of the box. Any fix-it tips?
Not noticed it on my TE511 but i swapped out to a 46 rear for DS use. And i do like the new all plastic chain guide.
Is the chain block out of alignment? Give it a knock with a hammer and a lump of wood if so. Some of the RXV's used to come bent, a swift hit with the ultimate spanner and they were on their way
My '09 TE450 did the same thing. MotoXotica said that they see about 1 in 5 with this problem. The chain guide mounts are not welded on "straight". I first bent the chain guide as to not drag the chain over and wear the sprocket. My final fix was to replaced the chain guide with a BRP unit; I had to bend and file the mounts straight to make everthing right.
Same on my 09 SM510R. I removed the chain guide and gently eased the mounting plates over using some adjustables. Then as the OE guide was half rubbed away, replaced it with a TMDesignworks item.
