http://www.cycletrader.com/Husqvarn...a|2318034&keyword=Tr650 Strada&sort=year:desc What's the meaning of this? How low will the price go? From all the introduction rumors last year, it does indeed seem like they were stacking (warehousing) them deep and now they are selling them cheap.
My te511 was 6500$ to my door tax and everything delivered from southern, ca. Hard to sell a bike that is no longer supported by the oem. I wish they were a paralell twin. Would have been a great bike.
These TR650 especially the Strada will go for all prizes. I bought mine say 2 months ago with 300 km for euro 4.200,- in Belgium. The Strada's were not so popular as the Terra's and the Huskie warehouse was full when KTM boss bought the brand and dumped all BMW engine based Huskies. From the Husky factory only the sales department is left over to sell the stock. Honestly the bike has no superlooks but it is a nice and relaxed bike to ride, especially if you compare with the other single cilinder competitors. I am very curious how the prize will go, but in my eyes the only way is down. All dealer will like to sell this "outdated" and "impopular" model asap. Even we are big fans of our TR650, we have to face the facts that commercially this TR650 is a big disaster for BMW as well as for KTM. Better for the KTM boss to swallow this loss quickly then to let it swear for many years. The sale has begun, see how it bad it get in the current economy. For the consumer like us it is a much better situation, we can enjoy a good quality bike for less then China bike prizes. I think about to buy a second one in the Phillipines, because they become dirt cheap and in this way I even have my spare parts assured. An advice I can not give for this 5000 dollar prize, but it would not surprize me if the prize will go down even a 1000 euro or dollar more. My guess was that the 4.200 euro for a demo bike that I bought was about bottom in Belgium, but it only based on my feeling. Best Regards, John
Funny thing is, in the US, Terra's were cheaper than Strada's due to the ABS (I think). But, supply and demand has caused the Terras to cost a bit more now.
Yes, the Terras sell out much quicker. My local dealer sold out the Terras a lot faster than the Stradas. I think they still have a couple Stradas in inventory. I bought the last Terra. All of the bikes came from a lot they purchased from another dealer closing out. The local dealer is still a Husky dealer with new models on the floor.
